Where Hickory takes flight—and every artifact tells a story.
B & B Media Solutions proposes a long-term creative partnership with the Hickory Aviation Museum—beginning with a complimentary hero video and one exhibit story video as our investment in this relationship. As funding becomes available, we'll expand into additional exhibit stories, guided audio tours, and an immersive VR flight experience.
A mission-aligned way to modernize interpretation—without changing the heart of the museum.
The Hickory Aviation Museum already has the most important ingredient: real artifacts and real stories. Our proposal adds lightweight, grant-friendly technology layers that help visitors understand what they're seeing, why it matters, and how it connects to the community.
We understand the museum has just completed a landmark $22 million facility investment. That's exactly why we're offering the first phase—a hero video and one exhibit story—at no cost. We want to earn this partnership, not wait for a budget line item.
Short, story-first media helps visitors connect names, artifacts, and historical context—supporting educational outcomes for all ages.
Audio tours and captions support different learning styles and can better serve visitors with visual impairments or reading fatigue.
Interactive content encourages guests to stay longer at exhibits, return for new stories, and bring friends and family.
Highlighting local pilots and aviation heritage creates pride, intergenerational connection, and stronger donor/member affinity.
The museum emphasizes aviation education and opportunities for the next generation—our media layers reinforce that goal.
The museum supports self-guided touring, groups, and field trips. Audio + video provides consistent interpretation at scale.
Engaging storytelling helps volunteers, members, and donors feel the impact of their support—and invites new supporters in.
We start by investing in the relationship—not waiting for a purchase order.
We know the museum just completed a historic $22 million facility investment and is staffed by dedicated volunteers. Rather than wait for budget to free up, B&B Media Solutions will produce a hero video and one exhibit story video at no cost to demonstrate our commitment, our quality, and the value of this partnership.

The Hickory Aviation Museum is a community treasure. We believe in its mission and want to be part of its next chapter. By delivering real, high-quality work upfront, we prove our capabilities and build a foundation of trust—so when funding arrives for Phases 2–4, the museum already has a proven partner ready to go.
In exchange for the complimentary production work, we ask for recognition and partnership positioning that helps B&B grow alongside the museum.
B&B Media Solutions featured as an official media sponsor on the museum’s sponsor wall, website, and printed materials.
"Produced by B&B Media Solutions" credit on all complimentary video assets, including the hero video and exhibit story.
Permission to use the museum partnership and produced content in B&B’s portfolio, demo reel, case studies, and marketing materials.
First right of refusal for all future media, video, and technology projects as the museum secures funding for Phases 2–4.
When the museum is ready, the roadmap is waiting.
The complimentary Partnership Launch builds the foundation. Phases 2–4 expand from there—each independently fundable through grants, donations, or operating budget. There's no pressure and no timeline. When funding arrives, we're ready.
Build on the complimentary exhibit story by adding 2 more cinematic videos that deepen visitor understanding at key exhibits across the museum.
- Create 2 additional cinematic video pieces (2–5 minutes each)
- Scriptwriting + dialogue + voiceover (museum review checkpoints)
- Historically respectful dramatization (tone set by museum)
- Deliver files optimized for in-museum playback
- Install viewing method: TVs above displays OR a dedicated kiosk
- Stronger visitor understanding at key exhibits
- A repeatable format that can scale across the museum
- Clear content assets for marketing, membership, and donor outreach
The complimentary hero video and first exhibit story (Partnership Launch) establish the production template and prove the concept. Phase 2 expands that library with 2 additional exhibit stories, deepening the visitor experience and creating a stronger case for continued funding.
Make every exhibit feel guided—accessible, consistent, and scalable for all visitor types.
- Tour script + exhibit-by-exhibit narration
- Optional themed paths (WWI, WWII, local heroes, aircraft focus)
- Professional audio production + mastering
- Track numbering + simple signage to match exhibits
- Device/kiosk playback setup planning
- Improved accessibility and learning for diverse visitors
- A strong field trip tool for educators and group leaders
- A foundation for multilingual or expanded versions later
Create an immersive experience that increases dwell time, repeat visits, and positions the museum as an innovator.
- Room concept + visitor flow planning (safe throughput)
- WWI / WWII themed flight experience selection and setup coordination
- Onboarding prompts + safety/usage content
- Staff/volunteer training materials
- Ongoing maintenance plan for reliability
- A memorable, shareable anchor experience
- New program opportunities (youth nights, STEM events, memberships)
- A strong grant narrative around education + innovation

These are estimated hardware costs only. B&B setup, installation, configuration, and training fees are listed above in Phase 4.
| Equipment | Unit Price | Qty | Subtotal | Cost Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VR Headset & Strap | $700 | ×4 | $2,800 | One-time |
| WW1 Flight Simulator Software (annual license) ⚠ $2,400/year recurring — the ONLY yearly cost | $600 | ×4 | $2,400 | Yearly |
| Yoke & Throttle Controller | $400 | ×4 | $1,600 | One-time |
| VR Tech Total (Year 1) | $6,800 | |||
Budget note: The flight simulator software is a $2,400/year annual license ($600/station × 4 stations). This is the only recurring yearly cost in this entire proposal. All other costs—headsets, controllers, TVs, service fees, installation—are one-time payments. The museum should factor this $2,400 into its annual operating budget once Phase 4 is active.
The complimentary Partnership Launch and four-phase plan are just the foundation. The production template established by the first exhibit story makes adding new videos fast, affordable, and grant-friendly. As the museum grows its collection or identifies new stories worth telling, additional video batches can be produced and installed using the same workflow — no reinvention needed.
Expand the video library beyond the initial 3 stories (1 complimentary + 2 from Phase 2). Each new batch covers more pilot memorabilia, aircraft histories, or community stories — using the same proven production template.
- 3 additional exhibit videos per batch (2–5 min each)
- Same cinema-grade production quality and editorial process
- New TVs and media players added as the collection grows
- Each batch is independently fundable through grants or donations
Create special-edition videos tied to events, anniversaries, or new acquisitions — keeping the museum experience fresh for repeat visitors.
- Veterans Day, Memorial Day, or anniversary spotlight videos
- New acquisition highlight reels
- Oral history interviews with local veterans and families
- Holiday or field-trip-themed content rotations

The VR flight simulator software license is the only yearly cost the museum needs to budget for. Everything else—all service fees, equipment, and installation—are one-time payments.
Each phase can be funded independently — through grants, donations, or operating budget. The museum is never committed to all phases at once.
Quarterly commitments receive a 5% discount. Annual or multi-phase commitments receive up to 15% off total service fees.
Once all phases are complete, the museum's only ongoing cost is $2,400/year for the VR flight simulator software license. No other recurring fees.
Built for funders: clear outcomes, measurable value, and long-term scalability.
The goal is not technology for technologys sake. Its to strengthen interpretation, improve accessibility, and create a more engaging learning environment for individuals, families, and groups.

- Supports field trips with structured, age-appropriate narratives
- Audio + captions support multiple learning styles

Let's start with the walkthrough—everything else follows from there.
The Partnership Launch is complimentary and has no budget requirement. All we need is access to the facility, a point of contact for historical accuracy, and a walkthrough to identify the best first story. From there, the museum can leverage the finished videos to support Phase 2 funding when the time is right.
